Importance of Tajweed in Quran Learning

As the Holy Quran is the most sacred and important book of the world, so it needs to be read, written and recited clearly, efficiently and correctly. These efforts help the readers find

no ambiguity while reading or understanding it. Allay Almighty emphasizes it in the Holy Quran at different places. Allah says in the Quran, “… And recite the Quran with measured recitation.” [Quran 73:4].

If the Quran is recited correctly by following all the rules of Tajweed, it is enough to soften those hearts which are the hardest in the world. Every Muslim must learn some of the Quranic verses to recite it in the prayers, but most of us do not follow the rules and therefore, do not find impact of it on us. We must understand that it is an obligation and we need to learn Quran with Tajweed online to know the actual message of this Noble Book and experience the effects of it in our body and soul.

What is Tajweed?

It is an Arabic word which means proficiency or excellence in doing something. When it is applied to the Quran, it means reciting the verses of the Holy Quran by following all the Tajweed rules. We must understand that the Quran was revealed with all the applied Tajweed rules. If we will not follow these rules, we will not be fulfilling the requirement of recitation of the Holy Quran.

As described earlier, it is obligatory for all the Muslim to recite the Holy Quran in the way it was revealed, so it is a must for all to learn the Tajweed rules while learning Quran online. It becomes more important when we see the current changes in the Arabic language. The Quran was revealed in the Classical Arabic and therefore, Learning Quran with Tajweed Rules is equally important, even for the Arabs because, mostly, they do not know these rules too.

The Purpose

As the Quran is basically the literal words of Allah, so we must take its recitation very seriously. The basic purpose of Tajweed is to make the readers proficient in the recitation and helps them observe the correct pronunciation without exaggeration or deficiency.

As every language has its own articulation points and same is related to the Arabic language. It has Makhraj and Sifaat and the understanding of both the terms is a must to understand the Tajweed rules of the Quran. Sometimes, we find the same sounds and exit points, but have different attributes. If you know it accurately, you will be able to understand the actual requirement of Allah from us. If we will follow these rules, we will recite the Quran according to its requirements from us.

The Rules

According to Imam Muhammad Ibne Al-Jazari, who is one of the most acknowledged scholar of Quran and Hadith, “And applying Tajweed is an issue of absolute necessity, whoever doesn’t apply Tajweed to the Quran, then a sinner is he.” It means that all the Muslims must keep them away from the major mistakes in the Quran; otherwise, we must be ready for all those questions, which will be asked on the Day of Judgment.

Initially, we must understand the types of mistakes; we do while reciting the Holy Quran. The scholars have divided them into two groups named clear mistakes and hidden mistakes. Let’s explore both of them!

Clear Mistakes

These mistakes change the obvious things and sometimes, even change the meanings. It is an individual obligation for all Muslims, which means if we will make this mistake, we will commit a sin and it is a must for all not to make these mistakes in any situation.

Hidden Mistakes

These mistakes are basically the Tajweed mistakes and we can remove them only if we know the Tajweed rules. It is an obligation for the scholars and Online Quran Tutors to understand all these mistakes and guide about them to the general Muslims.
